Worrying, overthinking, feeling stuck. Confusion and uncertainty. Searching for answers in your mind. Phew... you long for peace—a calmness in your head. Endless dreaming, dozing, and daydreaming. Simply because your brain can. Lying back comfortably or sitting upright, creating, imagining, and designing. And suddenly—phoeff—you have a brilliant idea!
For my graduation project, I explored the concept of my brain and its chaotic nature. I created four large, organically shaped pillows that represent different parts of the brain. Each pillow is designed to be playful and versatile, allowing you to arrange them in any way you like—whether sitting up, lying down, or lounging. It’s like a never-ending puzzle, reflecting the uniqueness and complexity of each brain.
I painted the fabric myself using natural dyes, which adds a personal touch to the project. To fill the pillows, I used leftover filling from a clothing washing company and incorporated scraps from the fabric, making the design both sustainable and resourceful. The structures I created from the fabric symbolise the chaos within my mind, inviting viewers to engage with the pieces in their own way.
